Dodge has been a chain-smoking, angry man since leaving the woman he loves and his only child 30 years ago. He is an ex-police officer who has been working as a private investigator for many years. Berry, the daughter he has never known is in danger and her mother, Caroline, the only woman he has ever truly loved, calls him for help. He now has a decision to make - does he take the risk of re-entering their lives and facing them? What if his daughter doesn't accept him? Can he live through reopening his emotional wounds and survive? But more importantly, can he save his daughter's life.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Sandra Brown's writing style is always fun and well written. Her characters have their foibles and feel like people you would know in any town. This is a romantic suspense novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen.
